The reconstruction project of the section 1807 km – 1837 km of the motor highway "Border of the Russian Federation (to Samara) – Shymkent through Uralsk, Aktobe, Kyzylorda"

The Republic of Kazakhstan is the largest country in Central Asia. This country is remote by more than 5000 km from Western Europe and from the countries of Southeast Asia, apart from China. The provision of cargo transportation (except for gas and oil, which are transported, usually, through pipelines) for both international and local cargo, the Republic of Kazakhstan is more dependent on the land transport (road and rail).

The road "Border of the Russian Federation (to Samara) - Shymkent" is of the republican subordinance and is part of the "Western Europe – Western China" international transit corridor.

In accordance with the terms of reference for the development of design specifications and estimates for the reconstruction of the section 1807 km – 1837 km of the motor highway "Border of the Russian Federation (to Samara) – Shymkent through Uralsk, Aktobe, Kyzylorda", issued by Kyzylorda RD ARC, the road belongs to the I-b and II technical category with 2 or 4 lanes with traffic on perspective of 8828 vehicles per day. The section of the road 1807 km – 1837 km with a length of 30 km passes through the territory of Kyzylorda town with severely continental climate with natural heat, low rainfall and large amplitudes of air temperature.
